International Fund for Agricultural Development works at Tra Vinh University

On November 7, 2017, Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, TVU Vice Rector warmly welcomed the project assessment team from International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and representatives of Tra Vinh AMD Project Coordination Board in campus 1, TVU.

At the meeting, TVU presented the implementation of the fisheries analysis and testing project to improve values of brackish shrimp in Tra Vinh province as well as the implementation process of three projects related to climate change conducted by lecturers of School of Agriculture and Aquaculture, TVU.

Mr. Cornelis Hubrencht Blok, the Head of the delegation offered positive comments about the accomplished components of the fisheries analysis and testing project and expected that the remaining components are going to be completed on time.

Mr. Roshan Cooke, Regional Environment and Climate Specialist, Asia and the Pacific Region believed that the three projects are very practical and agreeable to natural conditions in Tra Vinh province. And they can be conducted in Mekong Delta because of their possibility.

Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung highly appreciated this working visit and expressed his pleasure for the projects’ initial results. He expected to receive more supports from IFAD to enhance research and technology transfer.

 After the meeting, the delegation took a tour to TVU research models.
